Email to the CMD (10 Aug 10)

Dear Sir,

I am a serving Army Officer, presently posted at Mhow (Dist. Indore), M.P. I applied for a BSNL Landline at my residence about 2 weeks ago. The same was installed promptly. While I am not facing any problems with the telephone per se, the BROADBAND connection that I have requested for is causing me a lot of trouble.

Firstly, it took the office about 12 days to install the modem (Type-II). Ever since the modem has been installed, it has not given me good service at all - in that the connection seldom works - and even when it does, the speed is extremely slow.

I tried contacting all the "officers" of BSNL Mhow but they seem too busy to attend to customers.

This morning, I had the honour of interacting with Mr Ranade, the SDO (?) of Mhow, while I was standing in the office of Mr Vijay Kumar, the DE. Mr Ranade promptly instructed Mr Vijay Kumar "not to waste his time talking to customers, but to do 'some work' instead"! This is the standards being put forward by these so called "officers" at Mhow.

They have sent their contract computer engineer Mr Manoj Rawat, to my residence 03 times - and all 03 times he has done a good job in testing and troubleshooting my connection. Now - he (Manoj Rawat) recommends that the connection be checked at MHOW EXCHANGE - but the SDO and others there don't have the time to do this. The DE is offering me a Type-I modem in exchange for the one given - but THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM as I have checked the connection using a Type-I modem as well, to no avail.

Please May I ask you to make one telephone call to your subordinates and instruct them to spend a little while looking after customers - which, I believe is part of their charter of duties. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
